Story
Madharaasi (transl. Man from Madras) is an upcoming Tamil-language action thriller written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss. The film is produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies and features Sivakarthikeyan, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Vikranth, Shabeer Kallarakkal, and Rukmini Vasanth in lead roles, with Prem Kumar, Sanjay, and Sachana Namidass in supporting roles.
The project was officially announced in September 2023 under the working titles SKxARM and SK23, marking the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Murugadoss, and Sivakarthikeyan’s 23rd film as a lead actor. The official title, Madharaasi, was revealed in February 2025.
Principal photography began in February 2024, with filming taking place across Chennai and Pondicherry. The technical crew includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, Sudeep Elamon as the cinematographer, and A. Sreekar Prasad as the editor.
Madharaasi is slated for theatrical release on 5 September 2025.
